So close to the beach you could almost dip your toe in, this fabulous top-floor apartment for couples and families has mesmerising views of the glinting sea and golden sands. It’s located in the popular seaside destination of St Ives, where there’s a wonderful selection of shops, pubs, cafes, takeaways and restaurants to suit all tastes.

This second-floor apartment, which has been carefully decorated throughout with a breezy coastal theme, is located directly on the harbour front and its views are to die for. From the dual-aspect windows in the open-plan living space you can gaze over to Porthminster Beach and observe the boats bobbing on the glistening waters as the tide goes in and out. There’s even a window seat where you’re bound to want to linger, as well as comfortable seating, a TV and a DVD for sociable evenings in. The U-shaped fitted kitchen includes a microwave and a dishwasher for stress-free cooking and cleaning up, leaving you to enjoy dining together at the adjacent table for four. The double bedroom has similarly wonderful harbour views, and there’s also a sweet bunk-bed room (with limited head height above the top bunk). The bathroom, which is reached by going through this room, has both a bath and separate shower for convenience.

Nothing beats the choice of five beaches in St Ives, where you can sunbathe, swim and build sandcastles, hire a chalet, eat at a beach café and learn to surf, paddleboard or kayak. A boat trip can take you to Seal Island, deep-sea fishing or on a historical sea tour, or you can stay on land and wander the cobbled streets of this historic fishing town and discover its variety of shops, galleries and excellent places to eat and drink.

We are very regular visitors to this beautiful flat. It is so welcoming and comfortable and the location and views are unbeatable. We have stayed in other accommodation over the years but to us, this flat is the very best!

we were told NOT to park o/side the property, but everyone else said we could (how do you walk down steel cobbled streerts with 2 suitcases.
