Perfect for two, this loft-style apartment with a private decked patio in the charming town of St. Ives is a wonderful base for those who wish to explore the magic of the Cornish coast. Take a romantic trip around the rugged landscapes on a sea safari boat trip from the town for a memorable day out where you’ll get the chance to catch a glimpse of some of the wildlife which inhabits this part of the UK, including dolphins.

Climb the staircase up to the property and you’ll find the quirky living room, with double doors opening out onto the quaint decked patio with table and chairs, as well as a leather sofa and a TV. Next door, the compact galley-style kitchen is filled with natural light and makes the most of the space with clever storage overhead and a wooden two-seater table for dining. The double bedroom offers a place to rest your head, with an unusual, slanted ceiling and exposed beams adding charm to the space. Completing the property is the modern shower room.

Pack a picnic and embark on an adventure on the South West Coast Path, heading towards Zennor (4 miles) or Hayle (6 miles) and soaking up the rugged scenery which characterises the area. For a slower-paced day out, why not take the St. Ives Bay Line from St Erth to St. Ives? Known as one of the most scenic train journeys in Britain, it’s a wonderful way to see the sights on the 10-minute trip before heading to a local cafe for a bite to eat. Spend time in Penzance (8 miles) wandering along the promenade and dipping your toes in the Jubilee Lido Pool before visiting the iconic sights in the local area of St. Michael’s Mount and Mousehole to make the most of your time in Cornwall.

The Deck was an excellent, well presented property right in the centre of St Ives. There are lovely views from the property and despite its central location I found it very quiet. It was within a short walk of the train station, bus stops and Coast Path and it was very easy and inexpensive to get around Cornwall without a car. The Deck was a 5 miRead morenute stroll from excellent restaurants with fresh, local fish on the menu and superb views of the beach and the sea. The Tate St Ives and Barbara Hepworth Sculpture Garden were also close by. Hide
